About
The Cottage Montessori School |
|
|
|
|
|
The school was designed with my own child in mind and
continues to operate to that very high standard today. We are lucky
to be based in a wonderfully big, spacious and bright room with
a perfect sized garden in which to play, explore, plant and compete.
The school is run by myself; Susan Gaynor, a fully qualified Montessori
teacher. I am joined in the school by Anne Herssens. Anne has many
years experience in the Montessori world, she has been teaching
Montessori since she qualified from St Nicholas of Myra Montessori
College in 1990.
We are passionate about our work with the children in the school
and we love that we can give them one-to-one attention on a daily
basis. We aim to bring the best out in each child, to fulfil his/her
potential both in academic and human terms. We firmly believe in
the Montessori method of teaching, which has proved highly successful
all over the world.
In our classroom the children are guided in their
learning, in their number and letter work, but they are free to
work at their own pace. In this way the children learn to discipline
themselves without too much interference from Anne and myself. The
result is that they gain tremendous confidence and independence.
